Every repair starts with a short phone conversation

Instead of filling out forms and waiting three days for a response — you just call or text. In 2-5 minutes I'll know what's going on and what can be done.

1️⃣

Quick call or text

You write or call. You describe what's happening — „computer runs slow", „won't boot", „email won't send", „forgot my password", whatever it is. No complicated descriptions, no technical jargon.

2️⃣

Initial diagnostic (2-5 min)

After the call I already know whether the problem can be fixed remotely, how long it'll take, and what it costs. Phone diagnostic always free. No surprises.

3️⃣

We set a time

Repair immediately (if you're free and it's urgent) or at a specific time (morning/evening — I adapt to your timezone).

4️⃣

I send you a connection link

Via text or email — a link to TeamViewer or AnyDesk (your choice). You click, enter a short one-time code, and we're connected. Zero permanent install.

5️⃣

I fix it + check the whole system

Not just the main issue — while I'm in there, I look over the rest of the system. If I spot other problems (too many plugins, outdated drivers, security gaps) I flag them for you and fix in the same session (if you want).

6️⃣

Summary + invoice

After the session I email a short summary of what I did plus an invoice (for business). Payment via PayPal, Zelle, Wise, card, or BLIK for Poland clients. Zero hidden fees.

Remote connection — you stay in full control

Many clients hesitate the first time at „letting someone into my computer over the internet". I get it. Here's exactly how it works — and why it's safer than letting a repair technician into your home.

🔐

One-time code on YOUR screen

You open TeamViewer or AnyDesk (portable, no install). The program shows you an ID and a one-time password. You give them to me over the phone. Without that code I see nothing.

👁️

You watch me the whole time

Your screen is yours. You see every click, every window I open, every command I type. You can end the session at any moment with one click.

⌨️

Keyboard and mouse stay yours

Even during a remote session you keep full control — you can take back the mouse, interrupt anything I'm doing, close a window. I help, you decide.

🚪

After the session — zero access

Session ends — connection drops. The one-time code stops working. No backdoors, no „permanent trust." Next time you generate a fresh code from scratch.

🛡️

End-to-end encryption

TeamViewer and AnyDesk use full 256-bit AES encryption — the same standards banks use. Nobody „in between" can spy on the session.

📄

I don't copy anything without your knowledge

I don't move files off your computer without asking. If I need to look somewhere („let me see what's on your desktop") I always ask first. Your privacy 100%.

I help clients wherever there's an internet connection

You don't need to live in Chicago. You don't need to live in the US at all. Remote help works exactly the same whether you're in Toronto, London, Sydney, Berlin, Amsterdam, or Reykjavík.

How to pick a computer matched to your workflow

Before you drop $3-5K on a new machine, it's worth thinking about whether you actually need the top-tier configuration. Below are practical tips from someone who's configured computers for hundreds of clients over 31 years.

💾

SSD — mandatory

The system drive must be SSD (ideally NVMe). Most important upgrade — an older setup with SSD outperforms a new setup with HDD. Secondary drive for big files (photos, video) can be a spinner if you want to save.

🧠

Processor — not the cheapest

Modern multi-core CPU. Intel Core i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen 5/7. Base clock above 2.5 GHz. Don't buy the lowest Core i3 or Celeron — you'll regret it in a year.

🎯

RAM — 16 GB minimum in 2026

8 GB is absolute minimum for Windows 11 (and just barely). Realistic 2026 minimum is 16 GB — browsers, Teams, Office, Photoshop, all at once. More = better multitasking.

🎨

Dedicated graphics — only if you need it

Only if you do graphics, video, gaming, editing. For office work and web browsing, integrated is plenty. Don't pay for GTX/RTX if you won't use it.

🔩

Laptop mechanical parts matter

Hinges, cooling, power supply quality, keyboard, screen. This is what determines longevity. Cheap „bargain" laptops often have weak hinges — after a year the screen „wobbles", after two it falls out of the frame.

💡

Free consultation before you buy

Call before you buy. I'll tell you if the config makes sense, where to buy at best price (US: Micro Center, Best Buy, Amazon, refurbished Dell/Lenovo). Send me a link — I'll check it and advise.

Symptoms → causes → what I do remotely

Not every problem can be fixed remotely. Below are the most commonly reported issues with a quick diagnosis — green ✓ = usually yes, I do this remotely. Red ✗ = usually requires a visit (physical part replacement, spilled liquid, dead hardware).

Windows / macOS problems

1. Computer running very slow ✓
Freezes, takes forever to start, drive „grinding." Usually cause: bloated startup, background services, 100% disk usage, malware. Remote: startup/services/process analysis, drive SMART check, system cleanup. Usually 30 minutes.
2. Computer won't start ✓
Black screen, boot loop, „no bootable device", Boot Manager error. Remote: if the computer reaches Windows Recovery Environment — yes, I can check the bootloader, run SFC/DISM/CHKDSK, fix it. If it doesn't even reach BIOS — that's hardware, local visit needed.
3. Blue Screen (BSOD) ✓
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Remote: minidump analysis (BlueScreenView, WinDbg), RAM test (mdsched), Driver Verifier — in 80% of cases I diagnose remotely.
4. Computer freezes during work ✓
Frozen screen, no click response. Cause: overheating, drive, driver, insufficient RAM, program conflicts. Remote: temperatures (HWMonitor), Event Viewer, driver check, conflict analysis. Usually diagnosable without physical access.
5. Desktop loads for a long time ✓
Long time from login to icons visible, black screen after login, Explorer freezing. Cause: corrupt profile, startup programs, services. Remote: profile analysis, startup, network check for domain login.
6. Windows Update problems ✓
0x8007000d, 0x800f081f, 0x8024a105. Remote: reset Windows Update components (net stop wuauserv, SoftwareDistribution), SFC/DISM, CBS.log check. 95% of cases solved remotely without OS reinstall.
7. Computer restarts on its own ✓
Random restarts, sudden shutdowns. Cause: overheating, RAM, driver, PSU. Remote: Event Viewer analysis, temperatures, RAM test, disable auto-restart on error. If hardware (PSU) — Chicagoland local visit.
8. Windows login problems ✓
Windows won't accept correct password, login loop, „profile corrupted." Remote: profile repair, admin account access recovery, ultimately new profile with data migration.
9. Forgotten Windows password / PIN not working ✓
Delicate topic — but often I can help remotely if you have a second admin account or Microsoft account (online reset). Recover access remotely without data loss. Without remote access — local visit with bootable USB.
10. Windows activation — watermark ✓
„Activate Windows" nag, desktop watermark. Remote: slmgr analysis, activation history, product key check, reactivation via Microsoft account.

WiFi, VPN, email, cloud

11. No internet / WiFi keeps dropping ✓
„No internet access", „limited connectivity", frequent drops. Remote (if you have working internet via phone hotspot for the session): TCP/IP stack reset, DNS, NIC driver. Router config remotely if it has a web panel accessible from your network.
12. Websites load very slowly ✓
Browser slow despite fast internet. Causes: bloated browser, extensions, DNS, DNS-over-HTTPS. Remote: cache cleanup, extension disable, DNS change (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, Google 8.8.8.8), speedtest.
13. VPN won't connect / keeps dropping ✓
Remote work, corporate VPN down. Remote: VPN client check, tunnel DNS, firewall, router config. Configure from scratch or reset existing connection.
14. Teams / Zoom / Meet not working ✓
No audio, no video, dropped calls, no screen sharing. Remote: camera/mic privacy permissions, audio drivers, firewall, app test. One of the most common remote work issues.
15. Outlook / Thunderbird won't send email ✓
SMTP errors, corrupt PST/OST, slow operation. Remote: SMTP/IMAP/POP3 config check, profile repair, PST compact, search folder reindex. Migration between clients.
16. OneDrive / Google Drive / Dropbox not syncing ✓
Files not downloading, conflicts, duplicates. Remote: cloud client reset, permissions check, re-login, conflict analysis, folder migration.
17. Certificates / „not secure" warnings ✓
HTTPS errors on many sites, „your connection is not private", banking login errors. Remote: system time check (CMOS battery!), root certificates, browser config.
18. Bluetooth won't pair devices ✓
Headphones, mouse, keyboard BT — won't pair or keeps disconnecting. Remote: Bluetooth stack reset, drivers, disable BT power saving, remove old pairings.
19. Printer offline / won't print ✓
„Printer offline", jobs stuck in queue, printer not responding. Remote: queue reset (net stop spooler), driver reinstall, add printer by IP, firmware check.
20. Remote Desktop (RDP) not working ✓
No connection, black RDP screen, login refused. Remote (via channel other than RDP): firewall check, Remote Desktop Users group permissions, RDS licensing, session settings.

Applications, browsers, security

21. Popup ads / adware / hijacked browser ✓
Chrome ads, redirects, weird homepage. Remote: Malwarebytes + AdwCleaner, extension review, browser reset, scheduled task check, HOSTS file.
22. Ransomware — files encrypted ⚠️
Delicate. Remote: identify type (NoMoreRansom.org), check for free decryptor. If no decryptor — I'll help secure the system against further spread, restore backup if available, advise next steps. DO NOT negotiate with attackers, DO NOT pay ransom before consultation.
23. Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) freezing ✓
Slow operation, no save, activation errors, corrupt add-ins. Remote: Quick Repair / Online Repair Office, disable COM add-ins, profile check, activate via Microsoft 365 account.
24. Browser high RAM usage / freezing ✓
Chrome/Edge/Firefox „eating" memory, tabs freezing. Remote: tab profiling, unnecessary extension removal, profile reset, hardware acceleration on/off, browser process check.
25. Installer won't run ✓
„This installer requires administrator rights", Windows Installer error 1719, aborted installs. Remote: Windows Installer repair, UAC permissions, temp cleanup, installer reinstall.
26. Accounting / specialist software errors ✓
QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, industry-specific programs. Remote: database errors, incompatibility after Windows update, missing runtime libraries, network permissions, database backups.
27. Games — low FPS, crash, anticheat ✓
Steam, Epic, Battle.net. Remote: GPU drivers (clean install), temperatures, power settings, game file verification, antivirus conflicts, admin mode for anticheat (Easy Anti-Cheat, BattlEye).
28. Firewall / antivirus blocking programs ✓
Program can't reach internet, printer invisible, app won't connect. Remote: Windows Defender Firewall rule analysis, third-party antivirus, multiple security programs conflict (biggest performance killer).
29. Windows Search not working — empty box ✓
Click magnifying glass = nothing, no results, can't type. Remote: Cortana/Windows Search reset, index rebuild, AppX package repair, shell re-register.
30. Start menu / taskbar not working ✓
Start menu won't open, taskbar frozen, missing icons. Remote: Explorer.exe restart, shell re-register (PowerShell Get-AppXPackage), profile check, ultimately new profile with migration.

FAQ — before you call

Do you help clients outside the US?
Yes — I provide remote help to clients in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, all of Europe, Australia, and essentially any country with internet access. TeamViewer and AnyDesk work everywhere. I adapt to your timezone.
How does the first call go?
You text or call. In a short first conversation (2-5 minutes) you describe what's happening with the computer, and I tell you right away whether it can be fixed remotely, how long it will take, and how much it costs. Initial phone diagnostic is always free — you decide only after that.
Which problems can you fix remotely?
Over 90% of typical problems: slow computer, viruses, BSOD, Windows errors, drivers, Office/email/VPN configuration, network and WiFi issues (as long as you have a working connection), deleted file recovery, data migration, cloud backup, security hardening. Not remotely: physical part replacement, dead power supplies, cracked screens, spilled liquids.
Is remote access safe?
Yes. TeamViewer and AnyDesk are industry standards with end-to-end encryption. The session starts only after you click and enter a one-time code that YOU see on your screen. You watch what I do the entire time, keyboard and mouse remain in your hands. When the session ends, the code stops working — zero backdoors, zero always-on access.
How much does it cost?
Phone diagnostic — free. Remote help: usually $40-80 per session (15-30 minutes). Larger jobs (data recovery, business security hardening, migration): quoted after diagnostic. Business: monthly retainer from $150. Zero hidden fees.
Which systems do you support?
Windows 7/8/10/11, macOS (Intel + Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3), Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, Mint, Fedora), Chrome OS. Phones/tablets: iOS, Android. All brands: Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, MSI, MacBook, Microsoft Surface, custom PC.
Can I pay in my local currency?
Billing in USD via PayPal, Stripe, Zelle, or Wise. PayPal and Wise automatically convert to CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD, PLN. Invoice in EN or PL. For Poland clients: additional Revolut/BLIK option — ask before session.
Do you offer remote training?
Yes — one-on-one computer training in English or Polish for beginners and advanced users. Windows for seniors, iPhone/Android basics, internet safety, backup fundamentals, Office and Google Workspace. Sessions 30-60 minutes, adapted to your pace.
Do you help family / parents / seniors overseas?
Yes — very common. You live in the US/UK/Canada, your parents/grandparents in Poland (or vice versa) have a computer problem — you call me, I call them in Polish, patiently walk them through, do what needs to be done remotely. You get a summary after the session.
What if it's urgent — can I call at night?
24/7 flex. If I'm on another service call — text me, I'll call back as soon as I'm free. Evening and weekend sessions are normal (for European clients = my regular US working day).

Your computer isn't working? Don't fiddle — call.

2-5 minutes on the phone and you know what can be done. Diagnostic free. Remote repair usually same day. Chicagoland — in-person by appointment. Rest of the world — remote in your timezone. 31+ years of experience. English + Polish.
